The artifact
A certificate worth keeping.
When you hit 50,000 steps, the app generates a timestamped digital certificate — tied to your account, verified by HealthKit, traced by a thin line of the route you actually walked. Something you screenshot and keep.
The certificate is the product, not a reward for the product. It means something because it can't be faked. Scan the code — it resolves to the public verification page.
Built for trust
Proof without giving up your privacy.
Apple Health steps
WALK50K reads step counts from HealthKit to track the challenge. It never writes data back to HealthKit.
Server-side checks
Completion is checked by the server before a certificate becomes a public, verifiable record.
Location is optional
If you allow location access, the public certificate shows a normalized route shape, never your raw GPS coordinates.
You stay in control
Leaderboard names are anonymous by default. You can delete your account and associated data from the app.
THE WALK IS HAPPENING
You are not the only one walking.

Questions, answered
Before you take the first step.
What is WALK50K?
WALK50K is an iPhone walking challenge. Pick 10,000, 25,000, or 50,000 steps, start the clock, and finish within 24 hours to receive a verifiable digital certificate.
How are my steps verified?
The app reads step counts from Apple Health and sends the completed attempt through server-side checks. Manual step entry is not accepted.
Is location access required?
No. Location is optional and is used only during an active challenge to draw a route line on your certificate. Your raw GPS coordinates are not shown publicly.
What information is public?
A completed certificate can show the challenge, step total, completion date, duration, and verification code. Your leaderboard name stays anonymous unless you choose to show it.
What happens if I do not finish?
The attempt is recorded as DNF and does not receive a verifiable completion certificate. You can try again.
Is WALK50K free?
WALK50K is free to start. Optional challenge attempts and unlimited access are offered through Apple In-App Purchase, with the price shown before purchase.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. Delete your account from Settings in the app to remove your attempts, certificates, route points, entitlements, analytics identity, and account identity.
Is walking 50,000 steps safe?
It is a physically demanding endurance challenge. Stay within your limits, prepare properly, and consult a physician if you are unsure whether it is appropriate for you.
